Privacy notice

THE STORY BLANKET® is run by The Story Blanket Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 17250733), registered office Suite Ra01, 195–197 Wood Street, London E17 3NU. We decide how your personal information is used, which makes us its controller.

• If you book a circle: your name, email address and booking details. Card payments are handled by Stripe through Ticket Tailor. We never see your full card details.
• If you join our mailing list: your name and email address.
• If you appear in a photograph taken at a circle: your image.
• If you give us a testimonial: your words, your first name and the date.
• If you work at a company we contact about team sessions: your name, job title and work email address, taken from public sources such as your company's website or LinkedIn.

• To run your booking, send your confirmation and the venue address, and move your ticket if plans change. Basis: our contract with you.
• To keep financial records we are required to keep. Basis: legal obligation.
• To tell you about new circles. Basis: your consent, given when you join the list. You can withdraw it at any time using the unsubscribe link in any email.
• To use photographs and testimonials on our website and social media. Basis: your consent, asked for before any photograph is taken or quote is published.
• To invite you to review your circle on Trustpilot. Basis: our legitimate interest in hearing how the afternoon went. You can say no, and we will not ask again.
• To contact businesses about team sessions. Basis: our legitimate interest in offering our sessions to organisations they may suit. Every email explains how to ask us not to write again, and we honour it.

We use a small number of service providers, who only handle your information on our instructions:

• Ticket Tailor, for bookings. Its servers are in Ireland.
• Stripe, for card payments.
• Klaviyo, for our mailing list.
• Trustpilot, for review invitations.
• Our website hosting provider.

We never sell your information.

Klaviyo stores data in the United States. It transfers UK data under the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, with standard contractual clauses as a fallback. Some of our other providers may use sub-processors outside the UK; where they do, they are bound by contracts that protect your information to UK standards.

• Booking and payment records: six years, for our accounts.
• Mailing list: until you unsubscribe.
• Photographs and testimonials: until you ask us to remove them. We will take them down from our website and social media, though we cannot recall anything already printed.
• Business contact details: until you ask us not to contact you, or for no longer than two years without a reply.

You can ask us to show you the information we hold about you, correct it, delete it, restrict how we use it, or stop using it. Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time. Email contact@thestoryblanket.co.uk and we will reply within one month.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office: ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or 0303 123 1113.

We will update this notice if anything changes, and show the new date at the top.
